Louis’ Amazing 2nd Place at Portugal International Amateur Championship

Louis finished second at the 95th Portugal International Amateur Championship 2025, Penina, Portugal with a score of 16 under (76, 68, 68, 64). The second place came after a monumental comeback which followed over par first round at the end of which he stood in the second half of the 120 players field. Louis was plus 5 after 16 holes first day, and from that moment, he shot the remaining 56 holes at 21 under. The amazing come back culminated in the final round when he shot 9 under, finishing with 5 straight birdies and shooting the low round of the week.

The tournament was held in Penina Golf Club. It was the first tournament of the big European National Championships this year. The field was packed with all top European amateurs. The tournament also served as the first qualifying event for the Junior Ryder Cup. Twenty two  years old Englishman Eliot Baker won the tournament.
